Ananya Basak of host Khurda District Table Tennis Association reigned supreme, bagging a treble in the 9th KDTTA All-Odisha Open Table Tennis Tournament, which concluded here at Sahid Nagar Table Tennis Hall today.
Daughter of former National champions Arup Basak and Kanchan Dhawan, Ananya won the three titles in sub-junior girls, junior girls and women`s singles categories. After claiming the first two titles, she faced stiff fight in the women`s singles against local favourite Samartha Prusty before winning in 4-3 games.
Sagar Ghatge pocketed the men`s singles crown, defeating his AG Odisha teammate Kallol Gangury 4-1 in the summit clash. Janmajay Moharana of Rourkela Steel Plant bagged a double, emerging champion in junior and youth boys` categories.
Sanchit Saha (KIIT International School), Sushree Pattnaik (Khurda) and Krishan Prusty (Bhubaneswar) captured the other three titles in cadet boys, cadet girls and sub-junior boys groups respectively.
